Sakulino
I completed this series during the winter holiday trip with a group of close friends.
The village, named Sakulino, and its surroundings, which I captured during our wanderings, are located on the western edge of Russia, very close to the borders of Latvia. In late December, the area was almost entirely deserted, with only a local 'babushka' whom we encountered, living there year-round. Most of the houses were closed for winter, likely used by their owners only during the warmer months. Nevertheless, the desolation had its own magical charm, and I endeavored to capture that in my work.
